Brooks Bertsch
Co-Founder
Brooks is co-founder of Intersect Wealth Advisors. As a client advisor, he delivers thoughtful, holistic financial planning with a focused, high-touch approach to individuals and families. Through firsthand experience as an advisor to his own family, Brooks brings a unique perspective and expertise in developing and executing sophisticated, multigenerational investment and estate plans.
Prior to Intersect, Brooks was employed by the National Hockey League, working with the Minnesota Wild and Los Angeles Kings in various coaching and scouting roles. Brooks graduated summa cum laude from St. Cloud State University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. While there, he played for the men’s ice hockey team. He holds the Series 65 license and is currently pursuing his CFP® certification.
Brooks resides in Dubuque with his wife Amy, son Brody and dog Cooper. He serves as a founding board member of the Dubuque Fighting Saints, Saint 4 Life Foundation. In his free time, Brooks enjoys playing hockey and golf as well as spending time with family and friends.
Eric May, CFP®, CPA
Co-Founder
Eric is co-founder of Intersect Wealth Advisors. As a client advisor, he brings years of experience integrating financial, tax and estate planning strategies to business owners, executives and multigenerational families. The wealth management industry has given Eric the opportunity to combine his passion for finance, creative solutions and working with others to achieve a common goal.
Prior to entering the wealth management industry, Eric worked in public accounting, specializing in tax and financial accounting. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. While there, he played on the men’s basketball team. He holds the Certified Public Accountant license and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
Eric lives in Dubuque with his wife Emily, son Leo and baby twins Hendrix and Mila. When not working or chasing children, Eric enjoys golfing and being active outdoors.
